While other protection projects prevented traumatic events or mitigated their effects, this workshop is a step earlier in the chain, it is about building capacities to increase prevention and avoidance of such events in participants and their communities.

This puts it at a potential much bigger scale, but also at a lot of uncertainty compared with the concrete improvements of the other projects. Under our framework, its verifiable potential impact is below that of the top projects of this contest, recognizing that potentially training these change makers could catalyze much bigger protection effects, and then this would in fact be the most cost-effective project.

There is no sufficient information to confirm this. The protective effects of these trainings could maybe be tracked with long-term studies on participant's contributions in their communities in the fields of protection, peace-building, and development. We recognize we did not have a peace-building category, where this project would have fitted better.
